FSE 2005
FSE 2005 was hosted at ENSTA, Paris, and I presented a paper that I co-authored. The workshop was well attended by people from the youthful to the veteran, the relatively anonymous to the A-listers, and the colourful to the shady (allegedly). The recent SHA-1 “break” was gossip du jour especially after the copious amounts of vin de Bordeaux were served, thus consumed, at the lunches at the charming chez Clément.
My presentation went reasonably smoothly and I even managed not to overrun my end-of-day-two-just-before-the-banquet slot. Speaking of which, the banquet warrants a speical mention. It was held at Restaurant le Ciel de Paris, on the 56th and top floor of Tour Montparnasse, which overlooks the Paris evening skyline with la Tour Eiffel glimmering at a distance. Simply breathtaking.
Overall speaking, there weren’t many papers presented at the workshop that is of direct relevance to my research, but there are one or two that I find interesting nonetheless which I may study in more depth (cue sarcastic laughter).
